Cancer mistaken for pregnancy?

a 14 year old girl in U.K. was sent to the doctors, they said she must be pregnant since her hard belly kept growing. The young lady felt embarrassed by the fact that the doctors and her parents felt this was true. Four days later she wakes with unbearable abdominal pain and rushed to the hospital. After days of testing the doctors found out she had a 13-inch ovarian tumor, which had spread from her right ovary to her breast bone and bowel. She had a four hour operation to remove the mass, which left her with one ovary, one fallopian tube, and no appendix.
In many cases this would not happen with someone so young, it amazing how things like this happen to younger and younger people. this is an eye opener, with theses of you with children this make you want to visit the doctor more often!

  1. Didn't they even do an ultrasound to make sure this was the case? A blood test? Something? If the girl was adament she was not pregnant they should have checked better. She could have died from their failure to tell the difference between a tumor and a baby.
