21 baby bodies found in China river

Reported today, Tuesday March 30, 2010 21 bodies washed ashore on the riverbank in eastern China. Stashed in yellow plastic bags that are marked "medical waste" include infants several months old among some fetuses. Some babies tagged with all their personal information such as: Mother/fathers names, weight, and birth dates. They have tracked eight of the bodies to the hospital in Jining, three of them where admitted earlier to the hospital in critical condition. The other thirteen bodies were unidentified. An official from Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical College confirmed it was involved. They clam the babies with identification on them, are from their hospital, but the others are not. The medical staff that are involved in this mess are suspend until the investigation is over.

I am not sure how to react to this article. Why where these baby bodies thrown in the river? That is what criminals do to dispose of the mess they have created. This is a hospital, don't they have a certain place where bodies go? And where are the parents of these children? Even if my baby was only a few months old i would want a proper burial. I know things are not the same in China as they are in the U.S. but thins like this should be taken care of in a proper manner. Local people should not have to see things like this washing up on shore. I feel for the ones that did help recover the bodies out of the water, i know it couldn't be easy for most of them. I have a feeling this investiagtion wil uncover a lot, and may find information that will shock the world.

  1. This story is incredibly disturbing to say the least. To think infant's bodies are just tossed like garbage, and as you said that is what criminals would do to hide their actions, it is not what you would expect of a hospital. What happened here?
